Tanya Oken, Ph.D.

Tanya Oken, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and their families. Dr. Oken has specialty training as a pediatric psychologist which means that in addition to understanding child development and treating emotional and behavioral challenges in children and adolescents, she has additional specialty training as a health psychologist for children and adolescents. 

 

As a health psychologist, she is specialized to treat conditions when there is a health-related component such as eating and feeding disorders, body image disturbance, sleep problems, chronic pain, health related anxiety, adjustment to chronic illness, and, adherence to medical treatments. 

 

Dr. Oken trained at the nation's top hospitals and is trained in many research supported interventions. She is committed to a treatment approach that is collaborative and individualized.

 

Dr. Oken obtained her doctorate in Clinical Psychology with Health Emphasis at Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. She completed her Pre-Doctoral Residency and Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Pediatric Psychology at Children’s Hospital of Orange County.  

Dr. Oken has extensive experience working in hospital settings with medical teams and on research projects identifying ways to improve clinical care for individuals with chronic medical conditions. She maintains credentials at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
