Lauren S. Castriota, Psy.D.

Dr. Lauren Castriota is a licensed psychologist who works with children, adolescents, adults, and families with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).  With a specialty in working with adults with Asperger’s Syndrome, she incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help her clients learn to cope with the symptoms of depression and anxiety that often accompany Asperger’s. She also works with individuals of all ages seeking to increase their daily living skills.

Dr. Castriota is available to conduct psychoeducational and diagnostic evaluations, and has training and experience using the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) with clients of all ages. Additionally, she offers evaluations for individuals on the autism spectrum who are applying for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI).

Dr. Castriota also provides presentations covering topics such as:

​

  • Understanding your adult with ASD (geared toward parents and family members)

  • Supporting your adult with ASD as they transition into the real world (geared toward parents and family members)

  • Autism awareness trainings (geared toward community resources, employers, etc.)

Dr. Castriota completed her B.A. in Psychology at Arcadia University in Glenside, PA, and earned her M.A. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology. She has spent over ten years working with individuals with ASD in a variety of settings. Dr. Castriota’s pre-doctoral and post-doctoral training was spent at The Emory Autism Center, and she has also worked in early intervention and as an autism specialist in a public school district.
