Anthony C. Levitas, Psy.D.

Anthony C. Levitas, Psy.D., is a licensed Psychologist at The Behavioral Institute of Atlanta and a recognized child and family expert.  Dr. Levitas specializes in helping children and families and has over 25 years of experience in mental health services working with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples.  Areas of special interest include parenting issues, marital/couple's therapy, divorce and custody and blended family issues, and childhood behavior difficulties. 

Dr. Levitas is frequently appointed by Atlanta area courts as an expert witness and custody evaluator.  He devotes much of his practice to helping divorcing parents stop battling over their children and learn to peacefully co-parent.  He also specializes in the assessment and treatment of attention and learning difficulties. An avid athlete and musician, Dr. Levitas has helped many individuals improve their sports and musical performance as well. 

Dr. Levitas serves as a consultant to CNN, ABC News, CBS News, WebMD, and Parents Magazine, and to many Atlanta area television and radio programs, schools and courts.  He has served on the board of directors for a number of organizations including the Atlanta Center for Collaborative Law and the Jewish Educational Loan Fund. Dr. Levitas frequently lectures on a variety of topics including Parenting Issues, Divorce and Custody Issues, Self-esteem, ADHD, Communication Skills and Assertiveness Training, and Stress Management.

Dr. Levitas received his Psy.D. and M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology.  Dr. Levitas also has an M.S. in Community Counseling from Georgia State University and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of South Florida.
